A selection of paintings from the Fifties until her later works.
From neorealism to the cycle dedicated to St. Ursula and the late paintings, through her work, Dora Bassi spoke about what poet Umberto Saba defined as ‘the warm life of everybody’ (‘la calda vita di tutti’ – translator’s note). She investigated life within all of its turns, in its hints, in its daily rhythmic cadence. Most of all, Bassi managed to feel and perceive that life is a mystery. This is her most profound teaching.
